Taught a basic travel photography class last night at the Tysons Corner REI. It was a very nice bunch of people with a wide degree of photography knowledge and experience. A good experience, I hope, for all.

Sitting alone on a quiet, beautiful day shooting a time lapse in Loudon County, VA can be lonely work. Thank goodness the chill in the air has passed. Viewers respond to beauty shots.
It’s not often cold enough, long enough to freeze the C&O Canal in DC to the point of allowing ice skating, but that benchmark has been achieved a few times this winter. It seems the opportunity will last a while longer as we await another blast of extreme cold this week. Makes for good photos.
